THE CAMPAIGN, MAPS, AND NPC SUB-FACTIONS!

Postby Freki » 07 August 2014, 12:33

Etherium today introduces its campaign and NPC factions. In this futuristic RTS, you search the galaxy for a resource called Etherium. Colonizing planets of various terrains and climate types, you must evolve your armies by researching new technologies, exploit vicious climate changes, and upgrade your colony depending on your strategy. In the campaign, travel space encountering mysterious sub-factions, searching for the mysterious Etherium.

Also searching for the Etherium are three other major factions, but also sub-factions who you will fight and rally to your cause. On Arctis, face the treacherous snow of the white-planet, torn apart by snow-storms that lessen the range of all units, potentially grounding fighters. Visit Pilo and withstand the heat on the lava planet, steering your armada through winding volcanic valleys. On the mysterious planet Resurgence, take to the forests and ambush your enemies in the harsh and humid tropical climate.

In multiplayer matches, develop technologies to take control of these formidable and mysterious entities, or crush them as nothing more than a nuisance.

The sub-factions and maps in this round of screenshots include the hulking Guardians – an ethereal force able to reconstruct itself - battling it out against the Intar, whilst on Pilo the Vectides stand off against the dystopian Raiders, a motley band of post-apocalyptic skirmishers. Arctis hosts a war between the Consortium against the Parasites, an alien force that fights in packs – never fewer than 3.

Does anyone know why there are black and green rings on the terrain of the maps and the purpose of them?

If Necrons are in this game I'm not getting it. They were annoying and invincible and ugly and OP as crap in Soulstorm *shudder* .

Is there any news ANYWHERE on the state of the game after beta aside from a few pictures? I checked back after a month and the forums are basically dead... Is the release date pulled back? Is the game even being worked on still?

They are working on the game, no worries...
And maybe those green rings are objectives for a singleplayer mission or something :D

Maybe is a subtle way to connect the game with the 40k franchise, well, at least they were not Dawn of Eldar (spam wraithbomb on a Monolith early game for extra lulz GG)

Perhaps Etherium is set during the centuries previous to the Dark Age of Technology? Yeah, yeah, I know officially they want to create a whole new universe without laser melee weapons and psyker magics, but it may still soud quite cool.

Please give us some updates, I have put a lot of hope on this game along with your cousins from Eugen Systems.
